There’s a saying — live every day like it’s your last.
If this were my last day on earth, I would feel panicked at the thought of fitting in all my hopes and dreams into a mere 24 hours. I would hate that I never got the chance to travel to Italy, or become a yoga teacher, or have more children, or develop laugh lines. I would regret not saying “yes” to some opportunities and saying “no” to others. I might be brave, take a risk, try something new…but at what cost?
For me, last days signify chasing dreams rather than creating them. Making the best of a bad situation. Cutting losses and moving on. A fear-driven approach to living.
What if instead, we were to live each day as if it were our first? What could we accomplish with a fresh perspective? What would we do if we weren’t held back by our fears, our past failures, and our mistaken beliefs that we can’t?
Imagine the sweetness of falling in love, over and over again. The innocent, childlike delight of discovery. The powerful vulnerability of trust. The potency of our own greatness, renewed.
Success isn’t measured by how much you can accomplish in a single day. Living the life of your dreams is a process that is meant to be enjoyed. Imagine you had an entire lifetime to create your legacy and make your wildest dreams come true. To fulfill your destiny. This is all happening, right now.
I say: forget living every day as if it’s your last. Forget rushing the journey and regretting what has or hasn’t been done. Forget the fear of missing out, failures from the past, and feeling inadequate.
Forget “live like you’re dying”; instead, live like you’re truly living

"Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal. Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep travelling honestly along life’s path."

"The Buddha’s teachings on love are clear. It is possible to live twenty-four hours a day in a state of love. Every movement, every glance, every thought, and every word can be infused with love."

I’m so encaptured, got me wrapped up in your touch.
Feel so enamored, hold me tight within your clutch.
How do you do it, you got me losing every breath.
What did you give me, to make my heart beat out my chest.
